Cocoon

In my minds eye
I see two strong arms
Embracing my thoughts
Of the desperate existence
Of silent spiders
Spraying me
In their silky webs
And I spin, and spin, and spin

Stuck am I
Trapped am I
Move a muscle I try
But to avail
Giving up
I relax and ponder my sticky situation
When I’m prodded, poked
I take a deep breath and cringe
As a burning sensation
Travels through my veins and takes over my body
I bite my tongue

Written sometime in 1994… likely in the Spring or Summer, as that seems to have been a particularly inspirational time in my life for some reason. My notes state that the inspirations for this poem were: incense, candles, and a morbid mind. 🙂
